WhatsApp message costs for a Salla store

How official WhatsApp messaging is billed for your store, why Fynchat takes no commission on sending, and five ways to lower your bill.

Before you connect your Salla store to the official WhatsApp API, you deserve a straight answer to one question: who charges you, and for what?

Two parties, no third

Party You pay for
Meta (WhatsApp) Each conversation you initiate, priced by category and customer country
Fynchat Your monthly platform subscription only

Fynchat takes no commission per message. What you owe Meta you pay at Meta's own rate with nothing added — unlike platforms that profit from every message you send, which aligns their interest with your volume rather than your results.

Message categories and what they do to your bill

Meta prices by the purpose of the message:

  • Utility — order confirmation, shipping update, cancellation notice. The cheapest, and the core of store notifications.
  • Marketing — offers, promotions, abandoned-cart reminders. The most expensive.
  • Authentication — OTP codes.
  • Replies inside the 24-hour window — when the customer messages you first and you reply within 24 hours, your reply is not billed as a business-initiated message.

Rates change with Meta's updates and differ by country, so we do not pin numbers here; check Meta's current WhatsApp pricing for Saudi Arabia, and see your actual consumption under Settings → Usage.

Work out your return first

We built a free WhatsApp automation ROI calculator: enter your daily conversations, average handling time and agent cost to see what automation saves each month against what you will spend.

The practical rule for stores: order confirmations and shipping updates pay for themselves twice — once by removing "where is my order?" messages, and once by cutting returns caused by poor communication.

Five ways to lower your bill

  1. Keep notifications utility, not marketing. "Your order has shipped" is utility; "Your order has shipped, and here's 20% off" becomes marketing and is priced higher.
  2. Don't notify on every internal status. Pick the two or three milestones the customer actually cares about.
  3. Use the 24-hour window. After a customer writes to you, your replies within it are not billed as business-initiated — let the AI agent handle those conversations; they are the cheapest and the fastest.
  4. Keep your numbers clean. A message to a wrong number is still billed. Maintain accurate customer numbers in Salla.
  5. Target instead of blasting. A campaign to buyers of one category beats a store-wide send — lower cost, higher response.
